Product

When most people think of free samples they think of getting a product for free. Free product samples are given out by the manufacturer to get people interested in their product. By allowing people to try something before they buy the manufacturer has a chance to win them over.

Offering free sample products can be costly for the manufacturer, though. That is why almost all free sample offers have a limit. Once all the allotted free samples have been given out they are gone. Many manufacturers offer free samples continuously so when one sample is gone they put up a new one.

When you request a free sample product you will have to fill out a form that includes your mailing address. You will then receive the product in the mail. This can take anywhere from a couple days to a couple months.

 

Coupons

Sometimes a manufacturer will offer a coupon for a free product. A coupon may actually be a better deal than a free sample product. This is because when you get a coupon for a free product you go to the store and get a full sized product for free. When you get a free product by mail it is a trial size.

By using coupons the manufacturer saves on postage and you end up winning because you get a full size product instead of the trial size. It is a win-win situation.

You go about getting the free coupon the same way you would request a free product sample. You fill out an online form and the coupon is mailed to you. In some occasions you can get the coupon online and print it off yourself.

 

Downloads or Online

Some products are not tangible items so they are offered instead online or through a download. Some examples would be computer games or other computer programs. These samples are offered to you through a download that you install on your computer.

ou sign up for the offer much like you would if you were requesting a product sample or coupon. You then are giving a link to download the product. With computer games you usually get a free trial where you can play the game for so many hours or days. Sometimes you may luck out and get a full game or program that you can use however long you want, but that has limitations over the actual purchased version.

Offers

Along the same lines as downloads, offers are for products that can not be sent right away or that are somehow limited. A great example is magazine offers. Magazines are published at set times, so when you request a free copy you may have to wait for a while to get it. What makes offers different from a straight free sample is that you will have to cancel after you receive your free sample. With magazine, for example, you get a free copy and then you are billed for a subscription if you do not cancel.
